Melange yarn in textile industry

Mélange yarn:

Mélange yarn is produced with a mixture of raw and dyed fibers. Therefore creating a unique mixed color effect with a wavy pattern. The fibers can be in cotton or blended. It is also possible to produce a mélange yarn ring frame by doubling the roving of a different color to produce ring mélange yarn.

Application of Nanotechnology in Textile Industry

Nanotechnology in Textile:

Nanotechnology is a growing interdisciplinary technology often seen as a new industrial revolution. Nanotechnology (NT) deals with materials 1 to 100 nm in length. The fundamentals of nanotechnology lie in the fact that the properties of materials drastically change when their dimensions are reduced to nanometer scale. Nowadays also the textile industry has discovered the possibilities of nanotechnology. So, we can define nanotechnology in textile as the understanding, manipulation, and control of matter at the above-stated length, such that the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the materials (individual atoms, molecules, and bulk matter) can be engineered, synthesized, and altered to develop the next generation of improved materials, devices, structures, and systems. It is used to develop desired textile characteristics, such as high tensile strength, unique surface structure, soft hand, durability, water repellency, fire retardancy, antimicrobial properties, and the like.

Flax/Linen Fibers – natural bast fibers

Flax is a filament fiber harvested from flax plants that when made into fabric, is called linen. Flax is the oldest fiber on record, first grown by the Egyptians having along the banks of the Nile. Other sources lay claim to the earliest usage of flax to be in the Stone Age. The term “linen” is often misused, being applied to fabrics that simply look like linen, or being used as a general term for sheets, towels, and tablecloths.

Types of textile fibers – list of textile fibers by its sources

In this article a comprehensive textile fiber names are listed, would answer your following questions. Type of Textile Fibers | Classification Textile Fibers | List of Textile Fibers | Textile Fiber Names | Textile Fiber Sources | Kind of Textile Fibers| Textile fibers and their properties | Fibres used for in textiles | Fibers considered as textile | Examples of fibers | Widely used textile fibers | What is textile fiber | Natural Fibers | Manmade Fibers | Artificial Fibers

Fiber is a fine hair-like structure and is considered the raw materials of textiles. The fiber is extracted from various sources for commercial use. In addition to obtaining from animals, plants, and minerals, many of the fibers are artificially generated as well. Here is a list of most commonly used textile fibers.

Open-end or Carded or Break or Rotor Spinning

The first functioning of rotor spinning, machine was presented at the ITMA in 1967.Yarn spinning according to the rotor spinning principle predominates for all nonconventional spinning methods. It omits the step of forming a roving. After drafting, the sliver is fed into a rotary beater. This device ensures that the fibers are beaten into a thin supply which enters a duct and gets deposited on the sides of the disc(rotor). The transportation of the fibers is achieved through air currents.
